Remaking a Myth: On Collaboration and Creation

How does an ancient Confucian myth become the libretto of a twenty-first-century musical composition? On Wednesday Feb 19 at 7pm, Loganberry Books and Literary Cleveland host composer Viet Cuong and librettist Dave Lucas in conversation with Debra Nagy, Artistic Director of Les Délices, and tenor Nick Phan. Together, they discuss their collaboration for “A Moment’s Oblivion.” Join us for a far-ranging conversation about creativity, the art of adaptation, and how to cultivate fruitful artistic collaborations. As you learn about their upcoming World Premiere, you’ll gain insight into your own creative process.

This talk precedes Les Délices’ live performances of “A Moment’s Oblivion” Feb. 22 in Cleveland Heights and Feb. 23 in Rocky River.
