Beginning with Les Délices’ new arrangement of Jean-Féry Rebel’s remarkable tone poem Les Elemens (1737) and culminating in the world premiere of Theo Chandler’s gestural and coloristic response, The Elements (2019), this dynamic program explores 18th-century ideas about the natural order while expanding the sound palette for period instruments. Evocative musical representations of natural and man-made disasters by Jean-Philippe Rameau complete the program.
Performers include: Kathie Stewart (flute), Debra Nagy (oboe), Julie Andrijeski & Scott Metcalfe (violins), Steuart Pincombe & Jaap ter Linden (viola da gamba), Anna Marsh (bassoon), Mark Edwards (harpsichord).[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10″]Tickets[vc_empty_space height=”10″]Preview the Program & Notes[/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ty8LaeeA7cE” title=”Rameau: Earthquake from Les Indes Galantes (live performance)”][vc_empty_space height=”10″][vc_single_image image=”16682″ img_size=”large” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” qode_css_animation=”” link=”https://newberryconsort.org/”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
