The Poet and The Prodigy Reimagined

Initially conceived as an album pairing the music of François Couperin and J.S. Bach, Les Délices’ signature The Poet & The Prodigy program has been reimagined for this season kick-off performance to include works by CPE Bach and Georg Philipp Telemann. Says Nagy, “This concert has a little something for everyone. Not only do we get to enjoy Couperin’s penchant for elegance and atmosphere and J.S. Bach’s intellectual side and his virtuosity, but we’ll also share music by Bach’s son Carl Philipp, who composed amazing melodies and knew just how to pull on the heart strings. In addition, a viola da gamba solo by Antoine Forqueray provides a character portrait of Couperin and Telemann’s music brings additional energy and humor.”

About The Treelawn

In 2023, North Collinwood’s Waterloo Arts District got a new live entertainment venue: The Treelawn. Formerly the Slovenian Workmen’s Home, the 100-year-old building now comprises two venues: an intimate Social Club and a 600-seat Music Hall, now host to large events including concerts, weddings, and parties. Full of vintage charm and boasting an impressive acoustic, the Treelawn has quickly become a bustling community hub, hosting events 4-5 times a week.
