Les Délices brings Baroque Holiday Magic to Northeast Ohio Dec. 5-7th, 2025
Les Délices, Cleveland’s early music powerhouse, announces the return of the “best holiday concert of the year!” (ClevelandClassical.com). Noel, Noel is a heartwarming, candle-lit program of beloved English carols, French noëls, German hymns, and festive Baroque music, sure to fill audiences with the holiday spirit.
Les Délices will give three performances of Noel, Noel this December 5, 6, and 7th in Akron, Cleveland Heights, and Rocky River. Subscription packages for Les Délices 2025-26 Concert Season “Metamorphosis” are on sale now. Single tickets to all concerts will be available from September 10th.
This year’s performances feature soprano Elena Mullins Bailey, (pictured right) a longtime collaborator of Les Délices. Elena will lend her “easy virtuosity” to a wide range of Christmas music in multiple languages. Charming instrumental arrangements of classics including “Greensleeves” (“What Child is This?”), “Tomorrow will be my dancing day” and French baroque composer Michel Richard de Lalande’s joyful “Noels en simphonie” round out the program. Joining Elena onstage are: Artistic Director Debra Nagy (oboe), Shelby Yamin and Liz Loayza Herrera (violins), Rebecca Landell (cello), and Mark Edwards (organ).
Bringing Back a Fan Favorite
Previous iterations of Les Délices’ baroque holiday concert have been hugely popular with audiences. Says Director Debra Nagy, “We’re bringing back Noel, Noel very much by popular demand. Our hope is that these concerts convey a sense of hope, peace, and the warmth of community that we all deeply crave around the holidays.”
As a companion to these live performances, Les Délices will re-release its concert film Noel, Noel this December. Originally recorded in 2020, this filmed version will be accessible on-demand to Virtual Subscribers and those who purchase $20 a la carte access throughout the month of December. An album version of Noel, Noel is available to stream and purchase as a digital download or physical CD on Les Délices’ Bandcamp storefront.
What Makes this Year’s Noel, Noel Special?
While the concept of Noel, Noel is familiar to Les Délices fans, this year’s version is unique, and puts a particular emphasis on the exquisite repertoire of French Baroque carols.
Says Nagy, “Especially with holiday programs, it’s important to strike a balance between giving audiences a taste of the favorites they look forward to hearing and introducing them to pieces they might not yet know, but we feel sure they’ll love.”
