06 Feb New Baroque-Jazz Crossover Program a huge success!
Critics and audiences LOVED Les Délices’ new Baroque-Jazz Crossover program “Songs without Words.” Premiered in October 2016 in Cleveland, Les Délices will bring the program to Boston in April 2017 and record it for their 4th CD in September. Watch out for a national tour and CD release in Fall of 2018!
Praise from the Cleveland Plain Dealer:
“Mixing old and new numbers freely, the ensemble liberated the music of both eras, creating a kind of conversation across the centuries.”
“Nagy cut loose with a wellÔÇæthoughtÔÇæout solo that would have done any seasoned jazz artist proud.”
Praise from ClevelandClassical.com:
“Summoning their R&B souls, the Trio played with flair.”
“Following a poetic account of Michel Lambert’s Vos mespris the trio ended this most fascinating concert with Johnny Mercer’s iconic Autumn Leaves. Highlighted by some wonderful improvisations from Nagy, a laid-back walking bass line from Walhout, and inventive playing from Milnes, this was the perfect conclusion to a forward-thinking program.”
